Care for Tikki shoes and sandals

Except for a few exceptions, Tikki Shoes items are made entirely of genuine leather and should be cared for in the same way leather footwear is normally cared for:

1. Do not put shoes in the washing machine. Due to the relatively long washing cycles, which usually last more than an hour, the leather is submerged in water for an excessive amount of time, which can cause scaling and shrinking after drying. Additionally, being in contact with water increases the possibility of colour transfer. For cleaning Tikki shoes, only a leather care product should be used.

2. When the velvet leather sole of indoor footwear gets dirty or greasy, the fine velvet leather hairs stick and no longer adhere to the floor, so it needs to be cleaned regularly. You should only clean them when you see that the shoes are slipping on the floor.

In this situation, use a damp cloth or baby wipes, as well as a stiff-bristled brush (e.g., a nail brush, a barbecue brush, etc.). Clean the sole with a damp towel or baby wipe (do not rinse the soles with water, as this could cause colour transfer), let it dry, and then brush the sole with the brush until the fine velvet leather hairs rise again.

3. To clean the leather on the sides of baby shoes/outdoor footwear/sandals/boots, only a leather care product should be used.

4. Drying should be done gently and only at room temperature; do not dry the footwear near heat sources (radiator, stove, fan, fire, hairdryer, or other heat sources, or by exposing the footwear to direct sunlight), as this can harden the leather and cause scaling on its surface.

5. Avoid using bleach, detergents, or solvent-based products to clean barefoot shoes.

6. To clean all vegan models, you can use baby wipes or a damp cloth.

To clean napa and velvet leather shoes, only a special leather care product should be used.

7. Since outdoor footwear is not waterproof, it is recommended to use it only in dry weather. Water, snow, sand, gravel, solvents, tar, soft pitch, or other caustic compounds should not come into contact with the sole or sides of outdoor footwear. Avoid tripping over sharp metal objects, stones, glass fragments, lubricants, fuel, and thinners. Damage caused by poor road, trail, or pavement conditions, as well as the use of footwear on other rough, abrasive, or corrosive surfaces, is not covered by the warranty.
