Care of Tikki Shoes and Sandals

With some exceptions, Tikki Shoes items are entirely made of genuine leather and should be cared for in the same way as leather footwear:

1. Do not put the shoes in the washing machine. Due to the relatively long washing cycles, which usually last more than an hour, the leather remains submerged in water for an excessive amount of time, which can cause flaking and shrinkage after drying. Additionally, being in contact with water increases the possibility of color transfer. For cleaning Tikki shoes, only a leather care product should be used.

2. When the velvet leather sole of indoor footwear gets dirty or greasy, the fine velvet leather hairs stick and stop adhering to the floor, so it needs to be cleaned regularly. You should only clean them when you see that the footwear slips on the floor.

In this situation, a damp cloth or baby wipes should be used, as well as a stiff-bristled brush (for example, a nail brush, a barbecue brush, etc.). Clean the sole with a damp towel or a wet wipe (do not rinse the soles with water as it may cause color transfer), let it dry, then brush the sole until the fine hairs of the velvet leather rise again.

3. To clean the leather on the sides of baby shoes/outdoor footwear/sandals/boots, only a leather care product should be used.

4. Drying should be done gently and only at room temperature; do not dry footwear near heat sources (radiator, stove, fan, fire, hair dryer, or other heat sources, or by exposing the footwear to direct sunlight), as this can harden the leather and cause flaking on its surface.

5. Avoid using bleach, detergents, or solvent-based products to clean barefoot footwear.

6. For cleaning all vegan models, wet wipes or a damp cloth can be used.

To clean napa and velvet leather shoes, only a special leather care product can be used.

7. Since outdoor footwear is not waterproof, it is recommended to use it only in dry weather. Water, snow, sand, gravel, solvents, tar, soft pitch, or other caustic compounds should not come into contact with the sole or sides of outdoor footwear. Avoid tripping over sharp metal objects, stones, glass fragments, lubricants, fuel, and solvents. Damage caused by the poor condition of roads, trails, or pavements, as well as the use of footwear on other rough, abrasive, or corrosive surfaces, are not covered by the warranty.
